Are you looking for a clear liquid epoxy that can provide a strong, high-gloss coating for your projects? Look no further than Tarbender, a versatile and certified "aquarium safe" epoxy that can be used to coat a variety of surfaces, including wood, plaster, concrete, foam, fabrics, and even paper. With its unique 2A:1B by volume mix ratio, Tarbender is easy to mix and apply, and its UV-resistant properties make it perfect for projects that require exposure to outdoor light.

Tarbender has a wide range of applications, from creating hyperrealistic coral and aquarium displays to coating themed elements and exhibits for zoos. Its unique properties also make it an excellent choice for artists, makers, and DIY enthusiasts who want to add a professional finish to their projects.

To ensure a smooth and successful application, follow the instructions carefully, and make sure to prepare your workspace and materials properly. Tarbender should be stored and used at room temperature (73°F/23°C), and it's essential to wear protective gear, including long-sleeved garments, disposable gloves, and safety glasses. Mixing containers should have straight sides and a flat bottom, and mixing sticks should be flat and stiff with defined edges.

When mixing Tarbender, use a flat edge mixing stick for 2 minutes, scraping the sides and bottom of the mixing container with the edge several times. Then, pour the contents into a new, clean mixing container and mix again for 2 minutes. If you're using a drill mixer, use a variable speed mixer set to low rpm and mix for 2 minutes, but avoid creating a vortex that could introduce air into the mixture.

When applying Tarbender to a surface, make sure to follow the recommended coverage rates and estimate the amount of mixed epoxy you'll need based on the square inch area of the surface. A minimum of 2-3 layers of Tarbender is recommended for most projects, with a 4-hour cure time between layers.

Surface preparation is also crucial for a successful application. Ensure the surface is level, free of dust, oils, or other contaminants, and sealed with a thin layer of Tarbender if necessary. If you're working with porous surfaces, apply a thin layer of Tarbender and let it cure before applying additional coats.

Tarbender can also be used to encapsulate 2-D or 3-D objects, paper, cardboard, and other materials. For encapsulating objects, apply a 1/16" coating to the surface, dissipate bubbles with a propane torch, and let it cure for 4 hours. Then, place the objects on top of the cured layer, mix a small amount of Tarbender, and pour it directly over and around the objects to break surface tension.

Tarbender is a highly versatile and durable epoxy that can be used in a variety of applications, from art projects to commercial exhibits. With its excellent impact resistance, UV resistance, and high-gloss finish, Tarbender is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a reliable and high-quality epoxy solution.
