To ensure optimal results, it's essential to follow proper preparation and handling procedures. Holden's Latex Hx-200 should be stored and used at room temperature (73°F/23°C), and under no circumstances should it be allowed to freeze, as this can render the material unusable. Additionally, it's crucial to handle the product with care, wearing safety glasses, long sleeves, and rubber gloves to minimize the risk of contamination. Proper ventilation and cleanliness are also essential to achieve the best possible outcome.



When it comes to mixing and curing, Holden's Latex Hx-200 is relatively straightforward to work with. Before use, simply stir the material thoroughly, then pour it into a dry, unsealed gypsum mold. To eliminate bubbles, gently tilt or vibrate the mold if it contains complex undercuts or deep details. Depending on the desired thickness of your skin, you can adjust the pouring and dwelling time accordingly. For a very thin skin, pour the excess latex back into the container within a few minutes, while a longer dwelling time can produce a thicker skin.



It's essential to allow the Hx-200 to dry in the mold for at least 12 hours at room temperature before demolding. To ensure a smooth release, lightly dust the inside of the casting with talc to prevent the dry rubber from sticking to itself. After demolding, your casting is ready for use, and with proper storage out of direct sunlight, it will maintain its quality and performance over time.
