Description
In the world of molding and casting, having the right materials can make all the difference in achieving professional-grade results. That's why mold making professionals have trusted Smooth-On PMC™-744 for years to create strong, durable, and dimensionally stable molds for a wide range of applications. With its low viscosity, PMC™-744 is ideal for capturing even the finest details, making it the go-to choice for creating ceramic case molds, plaster block molds, and more.

Whether you're reproducing ornamental plaster, creating molds for casting concrete, or working with Smooth-On urethane resins, PMC™-744 is the reliable solution you need to achieve exceptional results. Its versatility also extends to casting wax for candle making and creating mechanical rubber parts, making it a staple in many industries.

To get the most out of PMC™-744, it's essential to follow the proper preparation and application instructions. Store and use the product at room temperature, ensuring a low environmental humidity level and good ventilation. Wear the necessary protective gear, including safety glasses, long sleeves, and rubber gloves, to minimize contamination risks.

Before applying PMC™-744, make sure to seal any porous materials, such as gypsum plasters, concrete, wood, or stone, using a suitable sealer like SuperSeal™ or One Step™. Non-porous surfaces, on the other hand, only require a release agent. Apply a liberal coat of release agent, brushing it lightly onto all surfaces that will come into contact with the rubber. After 30 minutes, the release agent is ready, and you can proceed with applying PMC™-744.

When mixing PMC™-744, use clean, dry tools and containers made of metal, glass, or plastic. Mix the product in a warm environment, following the recommended mixing ratio and instructions. To minimize air bubbles, pour the mixture in a single spot at the lowest point of the containment field, allowing the rubber to flow smoothly over the model.

After pouring, let the PMC™-744 cure overnight at room temperature, or accelerate the process with mild heat or Smooth-On Kick-It™ Cure Accelerator. Once cured, the rubber can be demolded, and the mold is ready for use. With proper care and storage, the fully cured rubber will remain tough and durable, performing flawlessly for your various molding and casting projects.

As a trusted brand in the industry, Smooth-On's PMC™-744 is the perfect solution for professionals and hobbyists alike, offering unparalleled performance, durability, and versatility. Whether you're working on a small project or a large-scale production, PMC™-744 is the reliable choice for achieving exceptional results.
